That Phone Call

Guest post written by my buddy Bernardo Graham

Since I have a home alarm system at my house I pretty much set it, leave the house and never think about it again. I go about my business all day every day not even thinking twice about my house and all of its belongings. The only time that feeling ever waivers is when you see that 800 number flash across your cell phone caller ID and you just know that it is the monitoring company calling to let you know something or someone has set off your home alarm. It is quite a scary feeling to be away from your home and have someone from adt bristol ask you if you can meet the police there and they are already in route. This has happened to me only once and thank the Lord it was just my dog barking inside that set off the glass break sensors we have in our kitchen. I was so upset with my dog but at the same time so happy that nothing really bad had happened I didn’t know whether to get mad or cry.

Baby It's Cold Outside

Brrrrrrr..............winter advisory in effect.  There's just something about cold weather and snuggling w/the one you love.  Love the snow and cold, as long as I'm inside and watching warmly from the window.

The song lyrics between the wolf and the mouse (words and music composed by Frank Loesser)

I really can't stay
(but baby it's cold outside)
I've got to go away
(but baby it's cold outside)
This evening has been
(been hoping that you'd drop in)
So very nice
(i'll hold your hands, they're just like ice)
My mother will start worry
(beautiful whats your hurry)
My father will be pacing the floor
(listen to the fireplace roar)
So really i'd better scurry
(beautiful please don't hurry)
but maybe just a half a drink more
(put some records on while i pour)
the neighbors might faint
(baby it's bad out there)
say what's in this drink
(no cabs to be had out there)
i wish i knew how
(your eyes are like starlight now)
to break this spell
(i'll take your hat, your hair looks swell)
i ought to say "no, no, no sir"
(mind if i move in closer)
at least i'm gonna say that i tried
(what's the sense in hurtin' my pride)
i really can't stay
(oh baby don't hold out)

both:baby it's cold out side

i simply must go
(but baby it's cold outside)
the answer is no
(but baby it's cold outside)
your welcome has been
(how lucky that you droped in)
so nice and warm
(look out the window at that storm)
my sister will be suspicious
(gosh your lips look delcious)
my brother will be there at the door
(waves upon the tropical shore)
my maiden aunts mind is vicious
(gosh your lips are delicous)
but maybe just a cigarette more
(never such a blizzard before)
i've gotta get home
(but baby you'd freeze out there)
say lend me a coat
(it's up to your knees out there)
you've really been grand
(i thrill when you touch my hand)
but don't you see?
(how can you do this thing to me?)
there's bound to be talk tomorrow
(think of my lifelong sorrow)
at least there will be plenty implied
(if you got namonia and died)
i really can't stay
(get over that old out)

both:baby it's cold
baby it's cold outside

Love Studying

This guest post from Edgardo Rosa

I love studying, I really do. I know that sounds super weird because most people hate having to sit down for hours and not do anything but learn but for me it’s all about being a good student and absorbing all the information that’s presented to me. I love that I’m learning something new all the time and I know that when I get out of school besides the mountain of student loan bills I’ve got to pay off I’m really going to be happy about being able to get a job as a nurse like I’ve wanted to for so long. I recently looked into Wallingford wireless internet because I do a lot of my studying on campus and it would be easier to do it online from the house than in the library because I don’t have internet. I wish my teachers made it simpler for me to go in and get good grades but I guess you do what you’ve got to do at this point in your education to get that degree!

Stepping Into 2012

We're almost at the midpoint of January 2012 within a blink of an eye.  My new year's resolutions were short.

- Renew my faith with God
- Renew my faith in Me
- Renew time with my family

Family includes my closest friends and family.  In the scheme of things, life is too short and reprioritizing what is important..........is important!  Everything else is secondary.
